I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, in Alamo, a small city between McAllen and Harlingen. My dad introduced me to art at a young age, he is a self-employed artist who pinstripes and airbrushes lowriders and choppers. My dad's dad himself was a sign painter and muralist for local businesses. The influence my family had on me and just the influence living on the frontera will have on anyone's psyche has greatly affected my view of art and material culture. Wanting to share with others my passion for the arts and culture I decided to study it full time in college, and with the support of my family and friends I was able to be a first-gen graduate with my Bachelors in Art History.
