Transcendental Tricentennial: Love Letters to San Anto

Transcendental Tricentennial: Love Letters to San Anto

Presented by Institute of Texan Cultures at Institute of Texan Cultures

This exhibit is a visually explosive theatrical narrative that highlights Casas’ artistic trajectory and life practice. A blend of new and old, this exhibit brings together multiple artistic mediums to explore the ethos of Americans of Mexican origin in San Antonio.

Chicanos/LatinX use the endearing term “San Anto” to express their sense of home, the state of their souls, hometown pride, and their local identities. This installation celebrates the people of San Anto and the river that shares its name, while honoring the original Indigenous inhabitants of this land.
