A classical music concert featuring internationally-acclaimed violist Vadim Gluzman and members of Olmos Ensemble, this concert will include the Schubert Octet.
Join the Olmos Ensemble for a classical music concert with music by Barber, Schnittke, and Schubert. Internationally-acclaimed virtuoso violinist Vadim Gluzman joins Olmos Ensemble group as guest soloist.
The Israeli violinist appears regularly with major orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, London Symphony, Orchestre de Paris, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Royal Concertgebouw, and will also be performing with San Antonio Symphony this season. Gluzman serves as Distinguished Artist in Residence at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and teaches at the Keshet Eilon International Music Center in Israel. He performs on the legendary 1690 ‘ex-Leopold Auer’ Stradivari on extended loan to him through the generosity of the Stradivari Society of Chicago.
Other performers on this concert include San Antonio Symphony concertmaster Eric Gratz, alongside William Cedeno (flute), Paul Lueders (oboe), Ilya Shterenberg (clarinet), Sharon Kuster (bassoon), Jeff Garza (horn), Matthew Cohen (viola), Allan Steele (cello), and Nicholas Browne (bass).
Admission by donation at the door, suggested $15 adult and $10 students and seniors.
