Centro Cultural Aztlan presents El Gran Dia de Los Artistas to celebrate its 42nd Anniversary!

For the last four years, this neighborhood-based community festival, presented in collaboration with the Jefferson/Woodlawn Lake Community Development Corporation, highlights the immense artistic talent of the city’s historic Deco District. Through a full day of free arts programming, hands-on workshops, and activities for families, El Gran Día de los Artistas engages the community and brings public visibility to the area’s hundreds of artists and arts organizations. The family-friendly event includes live music, poetry, dance, art exhibitions, Mercado de Arte, and open house/open studio celebrations.

Centro Cultural Aztlan (CCA) was founded in 1977 with a vision to build upon the traditions of Chicano/a, Latino/a, and indigenous peoples by creating cultural programs that involve local artists and increase public awareness of their work. We continue to serve this mission today through our commitment to preserving and promoting Chicano/a, Latino/a, and indigenous arts and culture, and through our commitment to diversity, education, and promotion of local artists.

We invite you to help us celebrate four decades of Cultivando Cultura. El Gran Dia de Los Artistas is a free community event and promises to be an explosion of creativity in the Deco District showcasing live music, poetry, dance, art demonstrations, and live painting.

The event will feature:
• Live Performances on TWO stages by the Jazz Poets, El Tallercito de Son, and muchos, muchos, mas!!
• Live Art and body painting
• Over 30 artists and artisans showcasing original and unique works of art
• Children’s Craft Table
