Western Art and the Institute of American Indian Arts Brenda Kingery
Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) faculty and students may have had more to do with ushering in the more contemporary style of Western art than perhaps any other artist or movement. They not only influenced the genre of Western art, but American art in general, and artists from around the world, both native and non-native. Brenda Kingery (Chickasaw), artist and Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the IAIA, discusses the history of the school and the many artists that it has produced and influenced. This program is supported by the City of San Antonio Department of Arts and Culture.
