The Briscoe Western Art Museum invites you to come and join them at their Wild West Wildlife event on Sept. 21st!.
The Society of Animal Artists (SAA), founded in 1960, is devoted to promoting excellence in the artistic portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet, and to the education of the public through art exhibitions, informative seminars, lectures and teaching demonstrations. The SAA’s membership, past and present, represents a veritable who’s who of artists from around the world. At the Briscoe, we will celebrate art and the animal though the lens of the American West. The event will be held in conjunction with our fall exhibition. For fall 2019, the exhibition is Art and the Animal: Society of Animal Artists.
Wild West, Wildlife! Community Day will be held in conjunction with opening weekend of our fall 2019 exhibition, Art and the Animal: Society of Animal Artists. Our theme for 2019 will include activities for adults and children, including arts & crafts, interactions with native wildlife, and hands-on demonstrations. Other activities will include story time in partnership with the San Antonio Public Library.
