Presented by Institute of Texan Cultures at Institute of Texan Cultures

With the Mabuhay Filipino Exhibit now open at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures, the staff and Filipino community advisory board have teamed up to produce a day of hands-on and audience participation experiences for August’s Free Second Sunday.

Local Filipino organizations will coordinate the day’s activities, including traditional Filipino games, performances, arts & crafts, food sampling and more.

Mabuhay Filipino Texans details Filipino culture, culinary traditions, military service, and other aspects of Filipino life in Texas. Also showing: Singgalot: The Ties that Bind, which explores the experience of Filipinos as colonial subjects and nationals, and further examines their struggles to acquire full citizenship as immigrants in the United States.
