SABIFF 2019 is committed to diversity and inclusion that supports Black filmmakers and exposes audiences to marginalized voices, diverse narratives and multi-dimentional filmworks by, for and about Black people throughout the Diaspora.
The San Antonio Black International Film Festival (SABIFF) is pleased to present its inaugural Black film festival October 10-13, 2019. SABIFF is committed to diversity and inclusion that supports Black filmmakers and exposes audiences in San Antonio and beyond to multi-dimensional film-works and diverse narratives by, for and about Black people throughout the global Diaspora. Cinema is one of the most powerful tools to impact people and cultures. We therefore aim to expose, educate and enlighten audiences with a myriad of programs and films that give voice to communities that are often times marginalized, stereotyped, or negatively portrayed by mass media. SABIFF is empowered to build an audience base with a mission and goal to present diverse narratives, filmmakers and Black media professionals to audiences locally and beyond utilizing film screenings, panel discussions, training, networking and other social events. We welcome the city to join us for a groundbreaking and historic weekend celebrating storytelling, culture and the arts through film-making.
