Reading by award-winning Latina author Reyna Grande
Award-winning Latina author Reyna Grande will speak as part of the exhibition, “Una Voz Desatada.” In her talk, titled "Mother Tongue: Healing from Language Trauma," Reyna will speak about her own immigrant experiences and participate in a Q&A about the exhibition.
Reyna is the author of four critically acclaimed books. Her latest, “A Dream Called Home,” (2018) is the sequel to her best-selling memoir, “The Distance Between Us” (2012). She is a winner of the American Book Award, the El Premio Aztlan Literary Award and the International Latino Book Award. This program is made possible in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
