Seventh annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival expands now at Hemisfair, October 26-27
Now in its seventh year, Dia de los Muertos, also known as Muertos Fest, is San Antonio’s beloved cultural event and the largest Day of the Dead celebration in Texas. Now in downtown San Antonio at Hemisfair, this free two-day event balances a respect for the traditional Mexican cultural practices of Day of the Dead, adapting them to the specific Tex-Mex border culture of San Antonio. This year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever with expanded art booths, ofrendas, music, food and an experience that has become a tradition for San Antonio and beyond.
Deemed one of the 10 Great Day of the Dead Celebrations in the world, Día de los Muertos merges traditional art and culture with the best in live music and entertainment. Festivities will include a two-stage lineup of live bands, dance and poetry performances; an arts market featuring original Day of the Dead crafts and artwork; a drum, dance and puppet procession; workshops; children’s programming and more.
Experience. Enjoy. Remember. Our loved ones are still with us at Día de los Muertos. Full details at www.muertosfest.com. Benefiting Inner City Development.
