The artworks in this exhibition, organized by Wounded Warrior and participating artist Mario Lopez, have been created by veterans who have served in various branches of the military during the Vietnam War and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  These veteran artists have been recognized with valor and meritorious awards including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and numerous service ribbons.

The exhibition also introduces selected works created by veterans enrolled in the new Bihl Haus Forward, Arts! program taught by Russell Stephenson.

Featured artists include Guy Banta, MD, Gerardo ‘Ghost’ Casares, Brandi Hartigan, Katherine Hopkins, Paul Kahl Jr., George Lamson, Natalie Lopez, Roger Price, Lionel Sosa, Cody Vance, Roy Villarreal & Michael Wright.

Opening Reception: Friday, November 8, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Bihl Haus Arts, 2803 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, 78201. Light appetizers by the pool and alternative rock band Three Beards, featuring veteran and songwriter Hank Barbe.

Saturday, November 23, 2 pm: Poetry and prose reading organized by Veteran and participating poet Edward Guadalupe Acuña Lucio Cody Jr., featuring Monica J. Baietti, Eduardo Cavazos Garza, Molly Huggins, Don Mathis, Herb Nordmeyer, Rhett Smith and Jennifer Patlan.

Saturday, December 15, 2 pm: Closing reception and panel discussion with Mario Lopez, Cody Vance and other invited guests.
