TEJANA RASQUACHA features pre-recorded monologue segments, filmed at outdoor sites in San Antonio, with live Zoom audience interaction segments broadcast from Barrera’s home in Dignowity Hill.
"Rasquache” means doing what you can with what you got, and that is what this production team does by creating live performance during a pandemic! This hybrid play is directed by Andrew Thorton with live music by Jaime Ramírez and video by Elias Flores, III. Think: The San Antonio version of Portlandia meets Gentefied featuring a Chicana Lily Tomlin-type actor.
Admission is at the audience members’ discretion to “choose-what-you-pay”: $0, $5, $10, $15 and $20.
