Organized in collaboration between the Consulate General of Mexico, the San Antonio Diez y Seis de Septiembre Commission, LULAC Council 648, The San Antonio Mexico Friendship Council, La Familia Cortez, Univision San Antonio, Telemundo and the City of San Antonio's International Relations Office. El Grito San Antonio celebrates the battle cry of the Mexican War of Independence, first uttered by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1810. Enjoy a family-friendly broadcast, featuring the traditional El Grito civic ceremony, lively music and cultural entertainment. This year’s virtual El Grito San Antonio will raise money for LULAC scholarships benefiting Hispanic youth in our community. LULAC is proud to help local high school seniors and college students following their dreams through higher education.
