Legacies and Promises Virtual Panel Discussion

Presented by World Heritage Office at Online/Virtual Space

Join the City of San Antonio World Heritage Office as it continues its annual Mission Marquee Plaza Hispanic Heritage Month celebration! This year, we're going virtual. You can join us from home or wherever you are by watching live on the Mission Marquee Plaza Facebook (@missionmarqueeplaza) or World Heritage Office YouTube channel (@worldheritagesa) from your computer, tablet, or other mobile device.

Tune in at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 for a virtual panel discussion about the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement. In between live music performances by Juan and Armando Tejeda, prominent activists will speak on topics that range from the impact of the U.S. Mexico War on Mexican American civil rights, to today's Dreamer movement. The event will begin with a welcome from District 3 Councilwoman Rebecca J. Viagran, followed by an introduction by Dr. Sarah Zenaida Gould.

Panelists include: Dr. Omar Valerio-Jimenez, Rosie Castro, Mario Compean, and Carolina Canizales.
