The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center and Westside Preservation Alliance (WPA) launched the Emma Tenayuca Speaker Series, formerly called the Westside Community History & Preservation Speaker Series, in 2018 to highlight innovative work in community history, historic preservation, and social justice. The series features short lectures by historians, planners, preservationists, and other experts followed by an open discussion in which community members are encouraged to make connections between the presentation and current issues facing San Antonio’s diverse communities.
