Jump-Start Performance Co. is hosting its annual BRUNCH OF CHAMPIONS virtually on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST.

Three outstanding champions who exemplify Creativity, Connection and Courage will be celebrated and recognized for their service to our community and dedication to the arts.  Proceeds from this fundraising event will support the artistic programming of Jump-Start’s 2020 - 2021 season.

Our 2020 champions are Michele Brinkley, Susie Monday and Dr. Leonard Cruz.  Each champion is an educator and has a long history of arts advocacy in our community and beyond, and each has been a friend to Jump-Start for many years.

Michele is a former president of Jump-Start’s board and member of our staff as special projects and education director, valued for her dedication to our mission.  Susie is a visual artist with a background in theater who has always been innovative, interdisciplinary and joyful in creating, sharing and teaching art.  Leonard is a choreographer, performer and teacher who discovered Jump-Start as a young man and has since become a citizen of the world, returning to San Antonio annually to keep in touch with family and with the arts community through classes and performance.

Attendees will help honor the champions while enjoying entertainment and an introduction to Jump-Start’s upcoming season. Breakfast tacos (including a vegan choice), orange juice, Topo Chico, sweet treats and more are on the menu and may be picked up at Jump-Start’s back door before the event.  A raffle of many desirable goodies will take place throughout the Brunch.
