25th annual Celebración a la Virgen de Guadalupe Virtual Exhibit

25th annual Celebración a la Virgen de Guadalupe Virtual Exhibit

Presented by Centro Cultural Aztlan at Centro Cultural Aztlan

Centro Cultural Aztlan is honored to present the 25th annual Celebración a la Virgen de Guadalupe Virtual Exhibit.  Viewers can explore the significance of the Latin American cultural icon, La Virgen de Guadalupe, through secular visual narratives showcasing a myriad of artistic representations of her by some of San Antonio’s most noted artists.  La Virgen de Guadalupe has moved beyond a religious icon; she has been embraced by Latinos/as/xs around the world and she belongs to the people. This exhibition is the oldest and most reverend featuring La Virgen de Guadalupe as the main theme. The exhibition includes Virgen de Guadalupe inspired acrylic, pastel, oil & watercolor paintings, jewelry, and mixed media pieces.

Please join our VIRTUAL exhibit and celebration on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 7PM through the following links:

Centro Cultural Aztlan is proud to present Cultural Expressions a series of community-based events that promote the work of Chican@/Latin@ artists. Through this series of visual art exhibitions, community discussions, literary events, and performances, Centro Cultural Aztlan empowers artists to create and exhibit their work and reach new audiences.

COVID-19 has greatly impacted the work we do here at Centro Cultural Aztlan, and we have had to adapt quickly! The Cultural Expressions series will allow us to continue engaging the artistas de Aztlan who were scheduled to participate in exhibitions that were canceled due to Covid-19.  We are taking steps to continue to bring valuable programming to the community via digital platforms through Facebook, YouTube and our website.

Since the closure of our gallery, many artists do not have the means—or place—to exhibit and sell their works. The Cultural Expressions series will help highlight their stories and their art, while making our Gallery available to our comunidad virtually.

EXHIBIT DURATION: Saturday Dec. 12, 2020 – January 8, 2021

EXHIBIT FORMAT: Virtual, Pre-recorded video and live concert to be posted on Facebook, YouTube, and our website available 24/7. Gallery Hours are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
