The Carver Community Cultural Center presents new portraits by The Proximity of Being artist, Barbara Felix. The Glorious Way She Moves -- Black Venus showcases large scale expressive images of Black women from San Antonio. These works further share Felix’s fascination with dance while also inviting viewers to contemplate societal perceptions of race and beauty. The exhibition also features portrait photography of the artist’s subjects by Chel Delaney.
The exhibition is available to view online and in-person until February 24, 2021, at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry St., San Antonio, TX 78202. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., M-F.
