Flexing the Poetry Muscle During Dire Times: A Voices de la Luna Poetry Workshop

Presented by Voices de la Luna at Voices de la Luna ZOOM Event

Sponsored by Voices de la Luna's Poetry Workshop Series. Bring your poetry in progress for a workshop with writer and poet, Dr. Mo H Saidi.Chairman of the Board of Voices de la Luna: a Quarterly Literature and Arts Magazine, Dr. Saidi is a retired professor and OB/GYN physician with a master's degree in English and American Literature and Language from Harvard University. His first book of poetry, Art in the City, won the 2007 Eakin Memorial Book Publication Award of the Poetry Society of Texas. According to Wendy Barker, his second collection of poetry, Color of Faith "carries the reader from the rooftops of Ahwaz in Iran to the plazas of Cuzco and to the Riverwalk of San Antonio. Vividly colored by Saidi’s own intimate knowledge of the Middle East, the poems offer potent observations about the tragedies of war." He will guide participants in techniques and histories of how poetry can work like a muscle to get us through dire times.
