SAAACAM presents Black History Film Series - "The 24th"

SAAACAM presents Black History Film Series - "The 24th"

at Arneson River Theatre

Bring your family and friends to enjoy movies under the stars on the beautiful San Antonio River.  Unique food truck fare is available.

The 24th is based on the true story of the Houston riot of 1917. The film features an African-American military regiment that is called the 24th in Houston, Texas. Despite their military service, the African-American soldiers are subjected to racial discrimination by the all white police force in Houston as well as from the local white people in Houston. The constant racial discrimination leads to a resistance by the African-American military unit against the police force and the white locals.

A discussion plus Q and A will follow the film with film director and writer, Oscar winner Kevin Willmott, Bexar County Buffalo Soldiers Historian Bill Gordon and more!
