Picture Your World is a monthly series of nature photography workshops for youth ages 8-18 held on-site at parks and natural areas around the city.
The Picture Your World Youth Photography Program is hosted by Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, a 501 (c) 3 organization. Picture Your World is designed for ages 8-18 and encourages a creative approach to digital photography while advocating a personal connection to nature and promoting environmental stewardship among youth.
Join us for the November Picture Your World Weekend Workshop at Mitchell Lake Audubon. Mitchell Lake is a 1200 acre natural area just south of downtown. This unique and beautiful bird haven consists of the 600 acre Mitchell Lake, 215 acres of wetlands and ponds, and 385 acres of upland habitat. Picture Your World will provide cameras, photography instruction along with a guided hike with a Master Naturalist to make the most of your educational experience.
The cost is $10.00 per youth participant. Advanced registration is strongly preferred as space is limited. Fee waivers are available for students needing assistance. Tickets and registration can be found on the Green Spaces website at www.greensatx.org. For more information contact Carra Garza, Picture Your World Program Manager, carra@greensatx.org, 210-222-8430, ext. 309.
