The 46th annual juried fiber art exhibition by the Fiber Artists of San Antonio opening October 8th through November 12, 2021 at the Kelso Art Center, University of Incarnate Word. The opening event hours will be October 8th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
This year marks FASA’s 46th Annual Juried Exhibition. Every exhibition brings its’ own element of excitement to go and view new works in fiber art and each Exhibition is different based on a particular theme or idea chosen for that year. This years’ exhibition will be that too – a unique perspective and interpretation of the theme “The Language of Fiber Art.” Artists were invited to enter work that demonstrated how they use cloth/fiber/paper to convey their ideas, emotions, a sentiment, a reflection of the past, or imagined future. That’s what makes this exhibition so special. The works on display will include art quilts, sculptural pieces, framed work, basketry, wearable art garments and mixed media work. We hope you make the time to visit this Exhibition, it will inspire dialogue about traditional vs. non-traditional techniques, new and unusual materials, diversity of concepts, and expand the boundaries of creative expression and skill of the artists. It will provide you with discovery and enrich your understanding of the language of fiber art.
The exhibition was juried by well known artist and curator Sarah Fox, and will run from October 8th through November 12, 2021, at the Kelso Art Center, University of Incarnate Word, 4301 Broadway, San Antonio, TX.
