“It’s A Soft Life” is a collection of plush stuffed animal oil paintings. Light and fun, these paintings are contrasted with large, often gold ornate frames. This series began as a painting study project with a small pink dog toy, and has developed into a wide range of characters. These pieces are meant to bring back a small part of childhood when life was a bit more carefree and “Softer”. Each plush painting has their own personality and name. “Marvin” and “Raymond” are a couple from the series. There is something light and comforting about the work that gives a sense of nostalgia.
Samuel Wilson is an oil painter with a focus in contemporary realism. Born in 1986 from Wichita, KS, Samuel began oil painting in 2008 under the guidance of his father, Kent Wilson.
