Alamo City Symphony Viva highlights three classic stories from the orchestral repertoire that are sure delight listeners of all ages! We open the concert with Edvard Grieg's setting of Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt, which includes beloved movements like "Morning Mood" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" we know you'll recognize and love! Prokofiev's film music from Lieutenant Kije follows the life of a fictitious military officer while poking fun at bureaucracy, while Ravel's charming work depicts other famous fairy tales, such as "Tom Thumb" and "Beauty and the Beast". Bring the whole family to this enchanting and fanciful afternoon of music!
