"Texas TRIPtych" Gallery Talk

"Texas TRIPtych" Gallery Talk

Presented by Bihl Haus Arts at Bihl Haus Arts

San Antonio River Authority Stormwater Analyst Michelle E. Garza will present the state of San Antonio’s River, the threats it faces, and the work being done to protect and repair this very important ecosystem. Join us for a gallery talk to learn more about the work the River Authority is doing and what you can do to help.

The gallery talk is in conjunction with the river-themed exhibition “Texas TRIPtych” by Elizabeth Rodriguez. It includes intimate three-panel paintings of Texas rivers, creeks, lakes, shores, landmarks, and landscapes in watercolor and mixed media, paired with a corresponding arrangement of rocks found there. The exhibition ends April 2. Rodriguez is a City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture 2022 Individual Artist Grant recipient.

Garza has over 10 years of experience in the environmental science and sustainable energy fields as well as business management. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a focus on geology and has worked for the Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute.

Upon graduation, she worked in regulatory compliance and remediation with DAI Environmental. Garza has been part of the Planning Unit in the Ecological Engineering Department at the San Antonio River Authority for more than six years, where she works to educate, manage projects, and develop sustainable stormwater solutions to improve water quality.
