NATIVE PLANTS FOR URBAN GARDENS by Dr. Kelly Lyons

Presented by King William Association at San Antonio Mennonite Church

The King William Association invites the public of all ages to a presentation Dr Kelly Lyons. A Professor in the Biology Department at Trinity University, she is a botanist and ecologist who studies the influence of diversity on ecosystem functioning and invasive species dynamics. Her current research focus is on restoration of Texas grasslands and rangelands with particular emphasis on improvement of soil health. Dr. Lyons also works as a consultant on the use of native and climate-ready plants in natural and horticultural landscapes. She teaches a range of biology courses and interdisciplinary courses on climate change and has studied abroad in Latin America and China.

Bring friends whether they are gardeners or not. Be sure to take in the Native Plants Garden at the Mennonite Church. There will be time for Q and A after the presentation.
