Join Thousand Oaks Public Library as we host Providence Umugwaneza. Ms. Umugwaneza was 11 years old when the genocide in Rwanda occurred in 1994-95. During this atrocity, more than a million of innocent Rwandan Tutsis lost their lives in a span of 100 days including Ms. Umugwaneza’s two parents and five siblings while her uncle's and aunt's families were completely wiped out. Ms. Umugwaneza will share her story, which she has recorded in her memoir "Next Couple Hours", and be available to answer questions following her presentation.
