Following a bit of ‘Ulysses’ by James Joyce, there will be a performance of excerpts from Penelope Boyer’s ‘Erasing Odysseus,’ a piece of feminist neo-mythic fiction/auto-fiction in progress. With Sarah Fisch, Sarah Tijerina and Ruthifer Wimberly.
A Bloomsday presentation:
2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses by Sylvia Beach’s Shakespeare and Company. Ulysses takes place on a single day--June 16, 1904, the date of Joyce’s first outing with his wife-to-be, Nora Barnacle. Named after Ulysses protagonist Leopold Bloom and his wife Molly, Bloomsday is an annual global celebration of the life and work of James Joyce.
Following a bit of Ulysses by James Joyce, there will be a hybrid live/zoom performance of excerpts from Penelope Boyer’s Erasing Odysseus, a piece of feminist neo-mythic fiction/auto-fiction in progress.
