Waste, junk, trash! Join Naomi Shihab Nye on Saturday, July 2nd, as she explores what society throws away in her book, Cast Away: Poems for our time. She prompts readers to think about what we consider to be trash, what happens to trash, and what our trash says about us. In this thought-provoking book, Nye offers candid, inquisitive, witty poems that all center on the concept of trash. This collection of poems is a reminder that we can have more control and intention over what we use and what we cast away, and that these actions have an effect on our planet. This Authors Series program is a wonderful complement to our summer exhibit, Earth Matters. During the Author Visit, Guests will experience a book reading with Nye, Q&A, a hands-on poetry activity, and a book signing.
Attending the event is free with the purchase of general admission or member check-in plus registration.
