Three Years of Fear Performance

Three Years of Fear Performance

Presented by CAST Schools Network at Charline McCombs Empire Theatre

For several years, CAST Schools Network has introduced incoming CAST 9th graders to the topic of mental health and relationships through the book Tafolla Toro by local author Lorenzo Gomez III, which explores mental health, fear and anxiety in middle school. CAST is proud to now share that students have worked with the author to transform the book into a three-act play now called Three Years of Fear. Through stories, the author shares lessons he learned through therapy about coping with violence, anxiety and coming of age.

Join CAST in taking the finished play to the Empire Theater - and beyond! The play is now co-written by CAST students, the set has been designed in partnership with local artist Martha Martinez-Flores, and will be performed by student actors, with a talkback with the author.

Tickets and tables to a VIP performance are being sold for the performance which takes place Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Empire here - please share with others who have an interest in mental health and theater that might want to support this effort!
