The San Antonio Bead Society hosts BlingFest, "a celebration of adornment,” Saturday, Sept. 17, and Sunday, Sept. 18, at the San Antonio Garden Center, 3310 N. New Braunfels Ave. The event features a market with purveyors of beads and jewelry-making materials as well as artisan  makers of jewelry and more. Artisan mediums include pearls and gemstones, sterling silver, lamp-work glass, enamel, polymer clay, ceramics, seed beads and fiber. "Make and Take" tables will provide attendees the opportunity to try their hands at making beaded jewelry. Promotional "goody bags" will be given to the first 100 attendees each day. Parking and admission are free. Hours: Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.;  Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
