This year, SAY Sí’s Dia de los Muertos celebration is titled, ‘Da Valor a Lo Pequeño: A Muertitos Celebration’ with the theme being ‘Dichos’. ‘Dichos’ are Mexican proverbs, so you can expect the students’ artwork to be focused on the proverbs that resonated with each of them. Coincidentally, the title of our show is a dicho as well, translating to, “Give value to the small things,” - which is exactly what we want to do at this event.
On October 28th, from 6pm to 9pm, SAY Sí will be hosting its annual Muertitos celebration, but this year will be a bit different. Rather than our usual 3-day celebration, Muertitos will be celebrated for just one night. Activities of the evening include: a street procession led by San Arte, an alum-led silk screening workshop (bring your shirts!), a marigold pickup, and of course, a showcase of student art by all 4 of our studios, including a film screening, live theater performances, and more.
