Texas Fiddle Night at La Villita

Presented by Festival of Texas Fiddling at La Villita Historic Arts Village

The Festival of Texas Fiddling presents "Texas Fiddle Night at La Villita" at the Cos House on Thursday, Dec 1, 2022. This fun music event is a kickoff for the 8th Annual Festival of Texas Fiddling, which will take place Dec 2-3, 20-22 at Twin Sisters Dance Hall in Blanco. The Texas Fiddle Night at La Villita is also a VIP fundraiser for the Festival of Texas Fiddling, a 501c3 organization based in San Antonio. Texas Fiddle Night at La Villita is an intimate opportunity to hear the very best in Texas fiddling across the many different styles found in the state, including State Champion fiddler Jason Andrew, Tejano fiddler Belen Escobedo, Texas-Polish fiddler Brian Marshall, and a string band all the way from Poland called Iskierczanie, which comes from the area where many Texas-Poles emigrated in the 19th century.
Texas music is fiddle music. Texas Fiddle Night is a celebration of the unique styles and traditions of fiddling across the state. The fiddle has always had central role in the overall richness and diversity of Texas music traditions. Only Texas has such a diverse and historic array of fiddle styles and tunes. The Festival of Texas Fiddling is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of Texas fiddling. A
