Author of “What Happens?” visits The DoSeum for a story time and hands on exploration
Join us on Saturday, December 17th, for a one-of-a-kind Author’s Visit with Asia Jones-Carr! Carr has been with the City of San Antonio for 15 years and a Recycling Coordinator for 6 years. During her time with the Solid Waste Management Department, she had the opportunity to create two children’s books -“Where Does It Go?” and “What Happens?”.
During the Author’s Visit, Carr will be reading her book, “What Happens?” which chronicles the process of composting. Follow along with the character in the story, Tyler, as she explores what compost is, what can be composted, the composting facility, and the science of microorganisms.
Activities will be provided throughout the workshop for all ages, including some hands on exploration as well as writing activities. In addition, Carr will be leading two story times throughout the day, plus an open Q&A with Guests, and book signings. We hope to see you there!
No RSVP required. Admission to the Author’s Visit workshop is free with the purchase of general admission or member check in.
