Join us for our 33rd Annual International Peace Market on Friday & Saturday, November 25 & 26 from 10 AM to 6 PM and a mini Mercado on Sunday, November 27 from noon to 5 PM.
The 33rd Annual Peace Market / Mercado de Paz is making a big comeback this year after going online in 2020 and hosting a scaled back Peace Market in 2021 due to the pandemic. For the first time since 2019, the Peace Market will welcome back some of our international artists who are very eager to come back to Esperanza and San Antonio.
This year the market will be held on Friday & Saturday, November 25-26, from 10am to 6pm. In addition, a mini-Mercado featuring our international artesanos will continue on Sunday, November 27, from 12pm to 5pm.
The International Peace Market/Mercado de Paz is now in its 33rd year, and since the beginning, has combined the arts with economic empowerment, international and cultural exchange, and social consciousness. The Mercado provides an alternative to Black Friday where goods are mass produced and where individuals fight traffic, long lines and shop within a stressful environment. The Peace Market offers attendees the opportunity to shop leisurely, visit and exchange directly with the creators of the gifts they will be purchasing and run into family and friends who are also interested in supporting artisans with a social justice sensibility.
The market will also offer live music from local performers and affordable and delicious food options.
Live performances by locally based musicians and poets will take place from 12pm-6pm on Friday and Saturday. Esperanza will be holding an hourly raffle for the beautiful goods donated by the artists.
The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center is located 1.5 miles north of the downtown library on San Pedro and Evergreen St. across from the VIA Metro Center.
