The opening reception will be on Thursday, January 12 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Come and meet the artist. The event is FREE and open to the public of all ages. Refreshments will be provided.
Ms. McCoy writes "Nature is my biggest inspiration, from the design, colors, textures and the interior structures. While attending a workshop with Jane Dunnewold in Botanical Printing I found I could combine all of these elements. This process transfers the natural dyes in the plants onto paper (or other surfaces). I especially love that it often delivers a “breakdown” of the inner structures and a very raw and beautiful sensibility. In addition, I love the unpredictability in this process. You never know what you will get! This series is mostly botanical prints which incorporate mixed media and mimics and heightens the results. A few are exactly what printed."
