“Emerging Resilience: Fortitude in our Fractured Existence” a collection of art by San Antonio artists, curated by Rachael Duke.
To celebrate June’s Second Saturday Dock Space Gallery is showcasing five emerging San Antonio artists. The collection addresses courageous movement through challenges. Each artist makes work that addresses fractures or flaws in individuals, society, or nature. Angeles Salinas examines faith, displacement, belonging, existence, and acceptance of the human condition. Braulio Ivan Gutierrez Gonzales makes interactive pieces focused on analytical and emotional unraveling as he disentangles life’s problems. Crystal Harmon explores emotional tension with geometric shapes and colors, representing flaws in human nature. Ian Manseau’s sculptures from salvaged trees invite viewers to contemplate our interconnectedness and foster a deeper respect for nature. Sarah Joy Lewis paints landscapes and portraits with an emphasis on introspection and stillness.
