the smallest thing

the smallest thing

Presented by Carver Community Cultural Center at Carver Community Cultural Center

How does one small idea grow into a story? How does that story sprout pictures? If you’d like to learn how a picture book is made and even be a part of the process, this matinee is for you! Celebrated author Xelena González invites young readers to share their feedback on her new stories in-progress. Be the first to view “art reveals” by four fabulous local artists, including Kim Garza, Kat Cadena, Audyra Flores, and Katie Dolan. Enjoy live drawings and storytelling, and share your ideas with this creative team to help their new picture books soar!

Recommended for 3rd grade & up. Aspiring authors and illustrators of all ages are welcome to attend. Please RSVP on Eventbrite. Funding for school buses is available on a first come, first serve basis.

This presentation is a culmination of Xelena’s 2023 Individual Artist Grantee project, sponsored by the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture.
