ARTS San Antonio presents Compagnie Hervé Koubi, What the Day Owes to the Night

Presented by ARTS San Antonio at Charline McCombs Empire Theatre

ARTS San Antonio proudly presents Compagnie Hervé Koubi, What the Day Owes to the Night. French-Algerian choreographer Hervé Koubi is being recognized as one of Europe’s most distinctive choreographers. He will make his San Antonio debut with 12 French-Algerian and African male dancers, mostly coming from street dance and hiphop backgrounds, perform Ce que le jour doit à la nuit (What the Day owes to the Night), a highly physical, stunningly fluid work that combines capoeira, martial arts, and urban and contemporary dance with powerful Sufi imagery.

Drawing his creative strength from his Algerian roots and global culture, Compagnie Hervé Koubi combines contemporary and urban dance movements and martial arts with powerful imagery and inspired choreography, defying gravity.

This performance supports the nonprofit mission of ARTS San Antonio to entertain, enrich and educate the people of San Antonio and South Texas.
