ARTS San Antonio proudly presents BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet from Lafayette, Louisiana.
"Bon temps, every time they play" - The New York Times "The best Cajun Band in the world." - Garrison Keillor, Prairie Home Companion BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet takes the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blends elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into satisfying music. Born out of the rich Acadian ancestry of its members, and characterized by bandleader Michael Doucet’s spellbinding fiddling and soulful vocals, BeauSoleil brings audiences to their feet.
You may have seen these two-time Grammy Award winners on Austin City Limits, HBO’s “Treme” or on Garrison Keillor’s National Public Radio show “A Prairie Home Companion.” In 2005, BeauSoleil founder Doucet was one of 12 artists awarded a National Heritage Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts.
This performance supports the nonprofit mission of ARTS San Antonio to entertain, enrich and educate the people of San Antonio and South Texas.
