Renowned cultural historian, Egyptologist, cultural memory specialist & author Anthony T. Browder presents an enlightening lecture entitled; “The African Contributions to Civilization from Africa to America” in San Antonio 4/5/2024.
The San Antonio Black International Film Festival (SABIFF), in partnership with Melaneyes Media, LLC, the Carver Community Cultural Center and the Carver Library presents renowned cultural historian, Egyptologist, and author, Anthony T. Browder in a special visit to San Antonio. A proclaimed memory specialist, Browder’s lecture entitled; “The African Contributions to Civilization from Africa to America” will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Carver Community Cultural Center located at 226 N. Guest speaker, Anthony Browder is the founder and director of IKG Cultural Resources based in Washington, DC. He has devoted 44-years researching ancient Egyptian history, science, philosophy and culture, and has traveled extensively to Kemet (Egypt); a total of 65 times since 1980. Browder is the director of the ASA Restoration Project, and has funded the excavation and restoration of three 25th dynasty tombs of Kushite noblemen of the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt. The first African American to fund and coordinate an archeological dig in Egypt, he has led over 30 archeological missions there since 2009. Browder has authored or co-authored (with his daughter, Atlantis Tye) 14-publications which are used in classrooms around the world. His most recent appointment is a 4-year term member of the Governor’s Commission of Middle Eastern Affairs by the state of Maryland’s Governor, West Moore. Four decades of studying and teaching African history has confirmed his findings that ancient Africans were the architects of civilization and developed the rudiments of what has become the scientific, religious, and philosophical backbone of mankind.
