McNay Second Thursday: Pop-up Poetry

Ekphrasis is a big word for a simple idea—writing about a picture.  Poet Pablo Miguel Martínez facilitates an ekphrastic writing opportunity within the exhibition Monet to Matisse: A Century of French Moderns. Meant for writers of all ages and abilities this program honors National Poetry Month #NPM17.

Experience art and enjoy FREE general admission to the museum during this family and pet-friendly McNay Second Thursday event that is open to ALL! Tours of the main collection galleries are offered at 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Access to our special exhibition is discounted to $10 per adult.

Bring your blanket and lawn chairs to lounge on the grounds while listening to this month's featured talent Bekah Kelso and the Fellas. Beer will be available for purchase along with several food truck options. Kid friendly + dog friendly (outside)
