Exploring the tangled intersection of art-making and care-taking, five South Texas Artist/Mothers come together to transform a home into art, video, and performance installation.

The MotherHouse Artists include; Brenda L Burmeister, Julia Barbosa Landois, Emily Fleisher, Yuliana Lanina, and Amber Ortega-Perez with Laurie Dietrich, Lisa Cortez Walden and Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson.

The MotherHouse is an annual event addressing the issues faced by mothers such as labor/work, ambiguity, cultural expectation, media representation, and the tension and synergy at the intersection of caretaking and art-making.
