During Gemini Ink’s second-annual Writers Conference: Writing for Change, the city will hear from many diverse voices about the importance of writing for social justice in weekend-long panels, workshops, and discussions. Nationally-acclaimed presenters and guests at this year’s Writers Conference include Marilyn Atlas, a talent and literary manager, award-winning producer, and writer, along with other featured authors such as Octavio Quintanilla, Brian Turner, Patricia Spears Jones, and Helena Maria Viramontes.
All panels and workshops contribute to today’s dynamic conversation of writing’s influence in the current political climate, and how to write effectively for change. Unless specified, all fees include admission to every conference event and a three hour workshop with one of the featured writers. All events are hosted by the El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel.
Registration costs for the Writers Conference are $165 for nonmembers and $145 for members. Reduced rates are available for students and panelists.
