On Saturday, October 7, the advanced Flamenco dance program at S.A. Parks and Recreation creates a celebratory dance production  “SOMOS Flamenco” that promises to be an unforgettable show of rhythm and passion. From traditional to contemporary movements that reveal the ancient origins of flamenco, this show “SOMOS” features professional performances by  Pilar Andujar “La Gypsy” of Spain; local dancers “La Sonya” and “La Morena”; from New Mexico, Vicente Griego, cantaor; guitarist Jose Manuel Tejeda of Austin, and percussionist Gerardo Morales of Los Angeles. What better way to pay homage to Hispanic Heritage month than with a journey together through the music and art forms of our Spanish roots!
