Auditions: 2017-2018 Season

Presented by San Antonio Mastersingers at University of Texas at San Antonio

The San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers, under the direction of John Silantien, will hold auditions August 19 and 20.  Limited openings are available in all voice parts.  Auditions consist of vocalizations, ear testing, sight-reading, and a prepared solo (if the singer has one). An accompanist will be provided. The Mastersingers’ 74th Concert Season will feature Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, a concert with the San Antonio Wind Symphony and the Annual Musical Shower of Roses at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower. In addition, in the Summer of 2018, the Mastersingers will be performing a concert tour in France.

The Mastersingers is an all-volunteer chorus numbering approximately 125 singers who perform each year on the subscription series of the San Antonio Symphony and independently.  The chorus has performed in such locations as New York City’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, as well as London’s Royal Festival Hall and on tour internationally in Italy and Spain.

NOTE: Auditions are by appointment only. Location of audition venue will be provided at time of scheduling. Please call 210-843-9237 to schedule an appointment.
