22nd Annual Virgen de Guadalupe Exhibit

Centro Cultural Aztlan is honored to present the 22nd annual Celebración a la Virgen de Guadalupe Exhibit. Visitors will explore the significance of the Latin American icon, La Virgen de Guadalupe, through visual narratives showcasing a myriad of artistic representations of her by some of San Antonio’s most noted artists.

 

This exhibition is the oldest and most reverend featuring La Virgen de Guadalupe as the main theme. The exhibition includes Virgen de Guadalupe inspired acrylic, oil & watercolor paintings, sculptures, jewelry, contemporary folk art and featuring an amazing special Art Installation honoring La Virgen de Guadalupe by Henry De Leon highlighting a collaborative Virgen de Guajadupe statue created by Gricelda Nill and Henry De Leon.

Hernandez, Olivia Marquez Luna, Iliana Mendez, Bricelda Moreno Cervantes, JD Morera, Guadalupe “Spike” Muñoz, Alexa Nelipa, Gricelda Nill, Nuevo Huevo, Minerva Ortiz, Tim Palomera, Michele Parlee, Gina Pellegrino, Carol A. Perez, Angelina Pliego, Yolanda Priego, Pulquerios’, Stephanie Ramirez, Martin Emmanuel Rangel, Israel Rico, Alfredo Rodriguez, Laura Salazar, Pearl Sanchez, Felix Saucedo, Raul Servin, Susan Spencer, Denise Stafford Gonzales, Victor Tello, Andy Villarreal, and Stephanie Zapata.

The opening reception on December 12, 2017 is from 6-9 p.m., and will include tamales, buñuelos, champurrado and more.

The exhibit is free and open to the public and will be on view through December 16, 2017, and from January 2 – January 19, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m.
