In his acting debut, Prince plays a semi-autobiographical character, The Kid, who escapes an abusive home life through music. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Original Score, "Purple Rain" features hits such as “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Jungle Love”, and “When Doves Cry.” The McNay screening is timed to coincide with the second anniversary of Prince’s death.
