The Brackenridge Park Conservancy presents the fourth annual “Spirit of Brackenridge Park at Miraflores Park” The event will celebrate the grand revealing of Miraflores, San Antonio’s historic sculpture garden adjacent to Brackenridge Park that the city assumed ownership of in 2006.
Spirit will highlight the restoration of the brick walkways and connection of Brackenridge Park to Miraflores—never before open to the public. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a sunset cocktail reception, mariachi music and guided tours behind the gates of Miraflores Park. The seated dinner from 7- 9 p.m. will be served among the sculptures, dating from 1920s to 1940’s. Honorees are City of San Antonio Mayor Lila Cockrell and Scotty & Patsy Pittman Light. Spirit co-chairs include Rhonda Calvert and Charlotte Slimp Mitchell.
The annual “Spirit of Brackenridge Park” fundraiser will benefit the work of the Brackenridge Park Conservancy.
Miraflores, along the banks of the San Antonio River, is located adjacent to Hildebrand and the AT&T office property on 4119 Broadway. Dr. Aureliano Urrutia owned this site, which was part of 15 acres from roughly 1925-1962. He created the contemplative garden as a reminder of his native Xochimilco, Mexico.
