The San Antonio Symphony League will exhibit a selection of the 2018 Paint to Music contest entries at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures this spring, as a student-created exhibit.
The Paint to Music Contest encourages children to explore the language of music and the role that classical music can play in enhancing creative expression through art. For the 2018 edition of the Paint to Music Contest, the Symphony chose three works to inspire the students’ artistry: an excerpt from Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” “Davy Crockett” of The Alamo Suite from the 1960 film score by Dimitri Tiomkin, and Carl Ruggles' “Marching Mountains.”
The exhibit includes 40 images, displayed in the institute’s student exhibits gallery.
$10 for adults (18-64)
$8 for seniors (65+) and children (6-17)
Free with membership, UTSA or Alamo Colleges identification.
